Getting the trim off those 73-79 Ford PUs can be a real B even with the special tool. Couple body men I know of say it is just as hard to get back on - especially with a new paintjob you're trying not to scratch. Back in the 80's when a lot of rust work was being done on these models most just left the trim on and taped it off.
