Is the vibration coming through the steering wheel?

Does the vibration still occur if you put in the clutch?

Does the vibration go away?

If it does not, was any transmission work done? If not, or even if it was; consider this the last source of trouble because it is the most work, and the source could be the bearing between input and output shafts.

But pull the drive shaft and see if there is any damage, and check to make sure the U joints flex smoothly- but with some stiffness.

Also check the rear transmission seal to see if there may be any evidence of serious leakage.

If you have the two piece drive shaft, check the center bearing, and rotate the drive shafts so they are 180 degrees apart from each other if the slip shaft allows for it (it may have been re-assembled out of rotation).

If all of that checks out, are there bolt holes on the rear of the transmission housing? if so, did you take a seemingly worthless piece of dead weight off of it? If you did, you want to put that piece back on. It damps the harmonic vibrations of the driveline.
