A 1973 would most likely have the 300 6 cylinder or a 302, 360, or 390 V8 if original. Given that the truck is 32 years old it could easily have a 351W (replacing a 302), 351M or a 400 (replacing a 360 or 390). A step side bed would have had a wood floor when new.
