You've provided some good advice. I was thinking of alternatives to the Big Block Chevy, basically because the Big Block engine has a cost. I've seen things like the 455 Rocket and other big block engines from the other divisions of GM thrown away for nothing, but in the case of these engine, there would be issues with bracket fabrication for the belt driven accessories. And that would be a pain, and got me thinking of the 400 Chevy Small Block. All the brackets could be used that are presently on my 350 engine. The ideal case would to be to find an old truck with the Big Block, but some of my favorite old junkyards are now shopping malls now that the land value in the area is going up.

At least at this point I don't need another engine, knock on wood.
