Check too to see that the distributer is getting voltage.

Since you rebuilt the engine, it is possible you routed the wiring different from what it was, or in handling, a wire broke, or insulation broke. There may be a blown fuse to go along with with either case- Check around around any sharp bends, or if the wire feeds through anything, check those stress points for broken insulation.
