Can anyone help? A 4160 holley has been fitted to my van and a lot of the emissions equipment has been disconnected. It has electronic ignition with the dual pickup distributor which i believe to be all original. The engine doesnt run very well and i suspected the advance and retard system not working properly. I have replaced the cam chain, ignition coil, ignition resistor. HT Leads, Plugs, Cap and rotor arm. The start/run relay has been checked and the Holley has been rebuilt.

The symptoms are that the engine does not idle very smoothly and has a habit of spitting back through the carburettor if the accelerator is pressed. Can anyone help with advice to and englishman in trouble!!! The van originally was a Canada model first registered in 1981

Many thanks
