In that year range the swap is pretty straighforward to do because the diesel 6.9 or 7.3 engines were not electronically controlled like a 7.3 PowerStroke is.
The best bet is to find a donor truck and pick up parts loike the motor mounts, radiator, engine , trans, brake booster and all drive accessories, etc.
It can work pretty well, but begs the question why ? For all the swap work , why not buy a parts donor truck that already has the diesel in it and repair it ?
