Re: some questions about fitting in a 59 GMC 100Posted by John McPherson on June 16, 2005 at 06:45:25 from (216.251.171.212): In Reply to: some questions about fitting in a 59 GMC 100 posted by tom on June 15, 2005 at 11:49:11: If you have long legs, watch for the dog bone and your knees. If you have short legs, you will probably fit okay. King pins, tie rod ends on drag link end and rubber bushings in general, other than rust in the usual areas, nothing really stands out as being more wear prone than anything else. Check the rubber hose connections for the brake lines to see that they are not leaking, ballooning, or just broken. See if brake pedal goes to the floor with constant pressure (if it does so, check wheel cylinders for leaks, and peel back dust boot on push rod into master cylinder to see if it is wet) Wheel bearings are ball bearing rather than roller, so you need to grease them with white lithium grease rather than the usual wheel bearing grease for best results. They will usually show a little mor play than roller bearings.
