I prefer to refurbish a vehicle rather than restore it. That is to say that I want to retain the original looks for the most part, while at the same time enhancing the safety, comfort, reliability, etc.

Now having said that, I am not one to weld a modern coil spring front suspension under my old 1949 Chevy that now has a solid axle and perfectly good drum brakes. On the other hand however I am toying with the idea of taking the torsion bar suspension off of the salvage vehicle I purchased and installing it. More to be different than practical I suspose. Also to demonstrate to neophytes that Chevrolet used torsion bar suspension at one time during their history.

I am also considering installing back up lights on my '49, so yes, I would install the back up lights on your truck if I had it.

I certainly like the 1964s so hope you enjoy yours. Blue and white, red and white, or ?????
