I could be wrong, I often am, but seems to me that back up lights came out in 66. I dont ever remember a 64 0r 65 with them. I do remember seeing 66 chevy and GMC fleetside pickups with them,also the suburbans. They had a little tab (of sorts) in the lower end of the 4 speed gearshift stick to push a button in reverse to turn them on. And that tab often wiggled of place and didnt work. I have no idea how the 3 speed transmission turned on these lights.
