1987 Mercury Grand Marquis 302EFI

friend of mines 87 mercury with a 302EFI is having some trouble. When she starts the car it revs to about 1500RPM and holds for about 30-50 seconds then after it idles down and gets very low and almost sounds like it miss fires and then picks up again. What could be wrong? possible the computer?
