vin number for a 73 dodge pickup model D10Posted by Dewey Hart on June 23, 2005 at 14:58:28 from (65.60.253.177): Hi, I have a 73 Dodge pickup adventure series d100 and would like to know what engine I have in it. The Vin number is " D14AJ35068780 ". I have read that the 5th digit should signify the engine. In the Chilton book on Cars the J would represent a 360 in '74 models. Somebody else told me the 10th digit signifies the engine . Also the Chilton book says that motors larger than a 360 has the distributor on the Front of the engine. Mine is in the front on the right side of the engine looking at it from the drivers seat. I'm Confused can any body help me? The reason I need to know I have a cracked exhaust manifold and need to replace it. Help! Dewey
