My dad had a '59 GMC 370 grain and livestock truck with a 16' bed, It had 304 inline six. Our volunteer fire department also had one, but it was a 'bubblenosed' cab over. originally it had a V-8 probably comparable to Chevy's 348 ci. It was later repowered with a 351 V-6. Both trucks were 2 ton class with about a 22,000 GVW. Dad's truck was a 5 speed with a 2 speed axle and the old fire truck had a 4 & 2. HJ
