truck insurance/young driver problemPosted by mark ct on May 28, 2002 at 05:07:38 from (140.186.154.150):
in april i got my ford L600 (24000 gvw)on the road. i got my insurance thru state farm insurance. i also changed over my other 2 trucks to them (a 92 toyota pickup and an 84 F350 flatbed). well the problem first came when 3 weeks after i did that they sent me a letter saying they would increase my rate because i had my licence less than 3 years(i am 19 but i only had my licence for about a 2 and a half years)OK, no big deal i paid the extra 200 dollars they wanted and i was done with, well that is what i thought. fri afternoon i got a registered letter from them saying that they were canceling my insurance on my L600 because i had had my licence less than 3 years.I WAS PISSED! HOW DID IT TAKE THEM THIS LONG TO FIGURE THIS OUT ANYHOW. now i have a truck registered for a year so i will have to cancel the registation and they only refund you in 6 month periods for registaration so i will lose some money on that. well i just wanted you to be aware of this and i was just wondering if anyone else had these sort of problems. by the way the truck is for my personal use and they rated it for that, i have not for hire posted on the doors.
