Ronnie - that's excellent mileage. The combonation of rear end and 3-speed help contribute to good MPG. I think the Powerglide 2-speed robs mileage from economical engines such as the 235 CID.

It wasn't a problem when this transmission was first introduced......gas was .14 to .17 cents a gallon in the early 60's and nobody cared.
