Sounds like you have a C20, not a C10. 1970 trucks should have 6 lug wheels for C10's, C20's should have 8 lug rims. They didn't go to 5 lugs till 1971 when they switched over to front disc brakes. The bolt pattern for 8 lug should be 8 on 6.5.
