There were some electric wipers available in the fifties on those Fords. I would not be so quick to condemn it. If you see an ink stencil or embossed/cast number like B8A-xxxx, it is correct for the era, and a check through parts books should indicate it correct for the application.

If the wiper arms are not synchronizing, remeber that one has to travel more of an arc than the other one, so that difference is made up in the size of the lever arm (swing) and to a lesser extent the length of the link.

You may not have the correct vacuum motor. That motor should attach to the existing mount bracket- which is the same whether electric or vacuum.
