I currently use a '73 Chevy 3/4 ton Camper Special with a 454 and Turbo 400 setup on 4.11 gears and 33-12.50 X 16.5 tires. Gets reasonable atrotious mileage, but pulls like a mule. My idea is to get a Chevy or GMC 5500 thru 7500 series truck, probably gas due to cost, and build a macho pickup. Power it with a 502 crate motor and Allison automatic, with a two speed axle. With the large tires and axles, etc. I could pull a trailer containing my three large Buicks with no strain. Big brakes will be a blessing, too. Probbly use a fifth wheel or gooseneck setup and I will be in business. My preference would be 1978 thru 1990 due to the forward folding hood. Pickups will pull the weight, but steering and stopping is my greatest concern. Nothing beats a larger truck. Insurance is a consideration, so be sure to check on that before you get a truck that you can't afford to insure. My two cents.......Greg
