Actually Ford had 8 foot and ten foot bed pickups in the 3/4 and 1 ton chassis', but those were available as either a "Camper Special", or as just a "Custom"- ie, base model.

In theory the springs were supposed to be heavier, and you had the Dana rear end, but the springs really were not different, and the Dana was available for any model ordered.

It was really not much more than sales tool and supposed trim level group
