IH TRUCKPosted by allen on August 19, 2005 at 14:24:59 from (12.77.185.5):
I have a 1979 IH 1700 series dump truck. 345 v8 . 5 speed plus 2 speed rear axle. It has a single line vacuum brake system. I dont like the idea of running up and down the hills in east TN.,without it beinging a split brake system. My master cylinder is starting to leak. I want to convert it to a split system. Someone told me to swap out the front axle to get disc brakes and get a two line master cylinder with fittings to convert to hydro-boost off of the power steering pump. Has anyone done this or is there a cheaper way????
