![]() There were no five speed over drive transmissions that would go behind a flat head Ford engine. There is an electric overdrive transmission that came with the flat head engines. You must have the electrical components to use one though such as the relay and the kick down switch for the accellerator and the wiring. Matter of fact I have one that is 12 volts but the input shaft is ruined. It was in a home made dune buggy that I salvaged. I also have one in my 51 Ford car that I have owned since 56 and it still works good. Have to do maintenance on it though such as cleaning the points in the shift solenoid etc.
