You'll probably have to tip the axle housing up in front to reduce the angles. If you have leaf springs you can grind the welds off the blocks on the axle housing that position the axle housing, rotate the axle housing to the desired position, and weld them back on. Lighter duty axle housings are softer steel, and heavier duty housings are harder steel. That will affect your choice of cutting or grinding tools and welding rod.
