'77 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4Posted by jd jim a on September 17, 2005 at 19:45:58 from (209.163.30.17):
Just bought a '77 chevy 1/2 ton in pretty decent shape. Looking for some general info on it. What years was this body style produced? I'm not quite sure how the 4x4 works. The decal on the visor reads "full time 4x4" The shifter positions are Low Loc, Low, N, High, and High Loc. It has lockout hubs. Can someone give me a run down on what each position does and what I should be doing? Also, the fuel guage is pegged all of the way towards full. If nessacary, how big of a job is it to replace the guage and sender? These might sound like stupid questions, but please remember that I'm young and haven't been around a pickup like this since I was a small kid.
