I have one more thought for you. My son's 50 truck has a 235 from the late 50's and to put this in, they had to move the radiator a couple inches foreward. Might consider measuring your motor length fan to bell housing end and see how that looks. All these people did was bolt the radiator to the front side of the radiator support with longer bolts and had to cut some metal out for the hood latch area. You also will want to have some pressure in your radiator if you run a 283. I don't think 47 was pressurized. Of course you will want to do the electrical mods to fit the motor. you might want to convert to electrical wiper system or else you will want to plumb a vacuum from your intake manifold.
