I also agree that a donor truck could be a good choice. I bought a 86 4X4 for a couple hundred bucks. A guy stopped by and offered me $200.00 for the tailgate with all of it's hardware, couldn't resist. Still have a great 351W 4V, C6 and the 4X4 running gears. 80-86 cabs are the same, wiring harnesses will be different, and must be saved, but if you are saving an old friend, what's a little extra effort???
