(1948 Ford F-5) I am stumped with 6 cylinder

I finally found the wire on the distributor that wasn't even ment there and have now got a spark and it still won't run I have the ignition rotor pointing at the #1 cylinder while it's at top dead center and have tried every positon on the distributor and still can't get it to run.And yes it is getting gas to the engine.Yes the exhaust pipe is clean and yes I think it's set at the correct gap (.015).Does any one know whats keeping it from running?
