I have found the ID# from behind the distributor they are - 0001886F55N. I think that means the engine is a 1955 261 engine 6000 1st Series. So, what does that mean?

Maybe I have the elusive diamond in the rough engine that with proper help it will be part of the cruiser for my freeway runs to shows and swap meets. Does anyone know the specs of this engine or explain when I could look for the.

I am thinking about doing up my six for my 1951 5 window Chev with a good tranny, rear end with ??? gears and how to do a little work to my 261. Any ideas? Fenton exhaust, twin carbs and a mild cam?

Thanks Lloyd from Washington
