Don't compare it to modern vehicles. Just drove my 71 in the rain, and had similiar problems. I only have two small defroster vents, that is the way it is. Ask any old timer and they will tell you stories of having a rag and wiping the inside of the windshield with it. Others gave good advice, if you want you could change the hoses under the dash they reproduce this stuff. Its normal for this year truck and is 50 percent less efficient than modern day stuff.
