i have a ford L600 that has a 12 foot dumping flatbed. it has a single cylinder with about a six inch bore. the cylinder has no problem at all dumping 14 to 16K lbs.The one advantage i can see of 2 cyls. is that if you want to tow a gooseneck trailer you can make a trap door in the bed and mount your hitch ball to the frame in the center(between the 2 cylinders). other than that reason i would go with one cylinder cause its less hoses and seals to leak and/or need replacing.what is this dump body on anyhow, a 1 ton or a heavy duty chassis.
