I have a 46 that I play with. I think you kind of have to decide what you want to do with the truck first off. If you want a driver for highway speeds, you have to get a newer motor without the babbited rods. Those trucks are meant to go about 40-45 mph because of the lower oil pressure. If you want a getaround the farm truck, then you wouldn't want to go fixing it all up nicely just for that. If you wanted an all original showpiece, then that is probably all you will want to do with it other than sunday drives. If it were me, I would look the truck over and decide if I liked it a lot and if it was a quality enough body and such to warrent the restoration or if it was a marginal type that means you can do a quickie resto and make it a getaround truck. THey are fun no matter what. Make darn sure you go all the way on brakes. That was a weak spot especially on those that don't get daily use.
