Brake Line Rupture

The brake line on my 96 F-150 ruptured. In all my years of motoring this is a first. My Haynes manual says I'll get a generic line and I'll need special tools to bend it to fit. Is this true? So even if I go to Ford for parts I'll need tubing benders?

The farm is a long way from town and I hate to pay for the wrecking charge.
