rocker arm disaster

Today set the tappets. Hate the ticking!. Would not fire until I undid all the valve adjustments I made. Will fire but won't run. I will buy new cap and rotor tomorrow. Had the cap off to spot the rotor on cyl. Ideas? Was a great running 79 chev 350 until I "fixed" it. LOL
