1948 Ford F-5 4-speed

I pulled the transmission out of the truck and and cleaned the clutch which was froze to the backing plate.But now once I start the engine it will shut off automatically when I release the clutch pedal while the truck is in nutral I dont know if it is a matter of adjustment. Any suggestions?
