I would say that all the engines are good. I think you should look at the rest of the truck first. I have a 7.3 and have had a couple and like it very much, better with the turbo. Izuzi (sp) has been making quality engines for years so I would not rule out the chevy but I would not buy the first model year of any brand. The chevy is quiet. Really it just comes down to what you happend to like, personally I feel that freinds don't let friends drive dodges :> , One other thing is to remeber that there is a lot of people out there who have no bussiness owning a disel and are better off with a gas job for their driving style.
