I own a 49 Chevy 3/4 ton truck and im looking for a way to put on a 1/2 ton rear end. MY question is do i need to change the lenght of the drivetrain? Get new springs for the shocks? Obviously i will need to run new brakes, but what do i need to do to prepare. all i have is the rearend with the old drivetrain. no springs or anything else. I recently put on the 1/2 ton front end on my truck and the only things i had to change where the back part of the spring attached to the frame. I had to cut a weld and bring it up to wherethe half ton springs would fit. the springs where a little thin but it worked .any info would be great thanx
