I scrapped a pickup with that setup 15-20 years ago,You would need the trans and front drive shaft,as I seem to remember the OD trans is longer than a std 3 speed. The "kick down" system consists of a throttle linkage mounted switch and a cowl mounted control relay and wiring harness.
If you find the od transmission without the control system, you can simply wire the od solenoid to a fused, dash mounted switch to turn it on/off,and drive it exactly like the two speed axle in a larger truck. Very simple and reliable,I have driven od conversions for years like that with good results. The only thing you must remember with this manual control system is that the od trans will not shift into reverse unless the od is shifted to low range.
You should also install a "lock out" cable,as the transmission will freewheel in low range unless you lock it out. Remember to always park the od equipped pickup in reverse or with the lockout cable pulled to prevent "freewheeling" into somthing if the pickup is parked down hill.
