We've used 8v batteries for years, using a 6v
now, but wouldn't hesitate to switch back if I
found an 8v for a good price.
Like the others said the 8v will tend to mask
problems but if you've got an otherwise good
vehicle I don't think it'd hurt anything. I like 'em
when its cold out and things are a little slow,
especially if what you're starting is the primary
snowplow. (Which ought to have a block
heater, but we won't go there.)
