how rare is this ford f100?

hey guys came across a 1970 ford f100 camper special .. what looks to be rare about this one is .. when you pop the hood.. there sits an onan generator beside the motor kinda neat looking.. anyone ever seen one of these? was it really a factory option? need some info guys... thinking about buying it... thanks..rob
