Do I have a '34 or '35 Chevy truck?Posted by Diesel Don on June 28, 2002 at 22:49:58 from (206.40.118.19):
I bought this truck with the body work done and titled as a 1934 Chev 1/2 ton truck.I was having overheating problems with the engine and after a lot of work, finally found a crack in the head.I had the head repaired and ordered a set of gaskets for it.The profile of the 1st gasket I received matched the head but unfortunately I didn't check it out close enough! As I filled it up with antifreeze,it came blowing out of the carb!I took the head off again and found two holes that didn't match.I found the number off the old gasket and called the gasket place and the gentleman told me he thinks it's a '35.Can anyone out there tell me by looking at engine serial numbers or body serial numbers what I have so I don't run into a problem like this again? Thanks in advance.
