I have a opportunity to aquire a pair of, I believe 1942 GMC trucks. The first is a 1 1/2 ton farm truck in pretty good shape with very little rust but very well used. The engine did run but smoked and was pretty tired. The second is the same year but a very odd truck. It was order by the military to be sent to England during the war. It is a right hand drive, tandem chain drive. It never made it to europe it spent most its life on a base in kansas as a fire truck. The second has 4,000 miles on it but is in extremely rough shape. An asphalt company bought this truck years ago and used it for a work truck and it shows. My question is what are they worth? The current owner claims the chain drive is worth a lot because there were less than 100 made. My thought is maybe so if you can find the special(crazy) person that is looking for it. Any thoughts?
