Had the same problem with a DeSoto; sludge builds up inside drain holes, finally blocks ( exc on mine oil ran past valve guides into comb chambers, and exh pipe wet for two-three feet: looked like a volcano,). Run some kerosene or similar as you jiggle wire and be sure to drain/flush...if you think might be solid particles might consider dropping/cleaning pan, just to be careful. Good luck
