Bought the truck (D600) off of a guy in Ohio (eBay). About 100
miles into drive back to Indiana tranny began squeeling. Turns out
the tranny was dry, no lube in it. Tranny mechanic in Michigan
pulled it. Says gears are blue and show signs of meltdown (edges
of gars are not sharp, and very galled). So, looks like would need
complete replacement of all gears involved in power transfer while
in 5th gear. I do not know what the gear diagram shows for 5th
gear power transfer. I would assume involves at least two shafts.
