1953 Ford car was available with factory power steering but not 53 Ford pickup. Ford pickups were available with factory power steering in the late 50's and early 60's, before they came out with the Twin I beam. The power steering from any 1/2 ton Ford pickup with straight I beam and not Twin I Beam should be an easy add on. You might find a pump from a 53 Ford or Mercury and it would have the right brackets or use the later pump and make some brackets. I took a power steering unit off of a 53 ford car in a salvage yard and put it on another 53 Ford car. It was all straight forward except I had to drill two or three holes in the frame for the cylinder mounting bracket. Same should go for a pickup.

Other option would be to use a modern steering gear with power steering made into the steering gear box. More modification but it shouldn't be too dificult.
