I recently purchased a Ford E350 disel supervan for expedited delivery. The gentleman I bought it from stated that he had just had the trans replaced, this has been verified. My question is, the trans is a auto 4 speed with overdrive. Sometimes (when hot)it will fail to downshift fully into first gear when stopping at a light. I have tried manually shifting it, and it acts like it has a fifth gear in it. For example: I accelerate to ten mph and shift into second, does that just fine. Continue accelerating to twenty, shift into third, it will shift into third and then about 3-4 seconds later it will shift again even with the electric overdrive turned off. If I continue accelerating to about 45 mph and engage the OD it shifts again. I've looked at the linkage and it appears to be fine. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks alot. Bill
