Yes the 240 and 300 use the same block..the only difference is the pistons, rods and crankshaft.. forget trying to patch the 240...buy a good used 300 and put in there... lots more torque with the 300... one caution, get one that has opening for a mechanical puel pump...the later ones for efi don't have that opening...
