Darn Fuel Pumps, Do you have to prime them after draining the system????

I just put on all new gaskets on the top end of a V-345 and redid the heads, now it is not getting fuel. Am I missing something? Is there a way to prime the fuel pump? I am kind of stumped as I have never had this problem before. THANKS SOOO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!!
