I had the same problem with my 1979 Ford E-350 motorhome. It has a 460. I bought a melling oil pump after trying to run heavier oil and almost tieing up the motor. After I installed the new oil pump, it ran like brand-new, and the gas milage even went up a little bit. GOOD LUCK!!
