It ain't magic. With OD it may never wind out. Example I had a honda mc with 6 gears I weigh 300 lbs. Guess what that honda would run faster in gear 5 than 6. Why ? Takes a certain amount of torque to move X lbs. Lower rpm, probably lower torque. If somebody says they get better m ileage, see how much weight they are pulling. If you got extra wheels, try bigg er tires, experiment. Bigger tire though, speedometer er ror and odometer error. Have to figure gallons per trip to compute. It ain't magic.
