Shipping an engine

The engine in my old truck is pretty tired, I have seen rebuilts for sale, usually by guys who have decided to rod an old truck, My question is what is involved in shipping one of these. I know a crate would have to be made for it but who would transport and what kinda cost would it be? Thanks
