Jerry has a very valid point. There is always going to be an engine for sale within 100 miles, all you gotta do is get the word out. Check the local machine shops, talk to the actual workers, not the desk guy. Many of them do this on the side to make ends meet.
If you are at a cruise in, talk to the locals, hand out your card to ppl.
You'll get what you want, and you'll get a good price.
*note...if you live out in the sticks...this may not work*
